Judges Association Website!
We believe the philosophy of judging dance and
drill in the state of Washington is as follows:
- To be prepared as best we can to evaluate teams fairly
with the goal of education
- To respond to the needs of high
school dance and drill teams with integrity, openness, and enthusiasm.
- To create an atmosphere of respect
for all the coaches, judges, students and parents.
- To reinforce the objectives of
the WSDDCA and WIAA.
- To constantly be willing to become
better educated in the art of judging, by attending clinics to update knowledge
of the rules and regulations.
- To approach each judging opportunity
in a professional manner; by dressing and behaving appropriately.
- To use taped comments to reinforce
the scores that were given on the score sheets.
- We are committed that through
our judging, we will provide a building block dance and drill teams can use to improve
their teams.
AS JUDGES, WE MUST FUNCTION ON THREE LEVELS: TEACHER,
COUNSELOR AND CRITIC!
